About Kansas City office

A look inside Kansas City’s award winning-culture

In 2021, we were named the Best Place to Work in Kansas City by the Kansas City Business Journal for small companies. This award represents not only the hard work of our employees but their resilience and support of each other through COVID-19 lockdowns – some of the most challenging times we’ve ever faced. Read more about the KC team’s award-winning culture.
We’re mission-driven and values-focused. At SafetyCulture, you’ll do the best work of your life alongside talented, passionate people. Employees have the ability to build a career, learn new skills, and develop professionally. Everyone is invited to bring their authentic selves to work every day and we’re striving to build an equitable workplace for everyone.
We are growing fast and we’re looking for talented, self-motivated people who value collaboration, growth, and learning to join our team. There are many opportunities to make an impact, move into different roles, cultivate leadership skills, and develop professionally. If you have a good idea or identify an area of improvement, you have the freedom here to try it out. One of our core values is #BeBoldBringAction, and we mean it.
All employees are given a piece of equity when they join the business, making every employee a part owner that ultimately shares in the rewards of SafetyCulture’s success. We’ve got big goals and bringing on amazing people will help us get there.
Employees have the option to work from home up to three days a week. When they’re not at home, the KC team enjoys a state-of-the-art workplace that features an open concept designed for collaboration.
Balance is a high priority at SafetyCulture. Our employees enjoy flexible work schedules with plenty of vacation, sick, and carers leave. Everyone is encouraged to actually take time away from the office and to be logged off outside of working hours. This mentality is adopted across the team, beginning with KC leadership.
Employees are empowered to learn and grow professionally and personally. SafetyCulture has partnered with local experts in health and wellness, finance, goal-setting, career growth, work-life balance, and more to conduct regular office-wide training.

Individually, employees are encouraged to seek out learning opportunities and set hard-to-reach goals.
Coming soon! We’re expanding our office in the Crossroads. This new addition will feature a pickleball court, a full commercial kitchen (with room for an in-house Chef), themed meeting spaces inspired by our customers, plenty of space for collaboration, and a spectacular view of downtown KC. We’ve got cold brew and beer on tap as well as a ping-pong table perfect for taking breaks.

We are located in the heart of the Crossroads near some of the best bars, cafes, and BBQ joints in Kansas City. Employees enjoy access to free, secure, 24/7 parking.
Lunch is catered-in every day, plus we provide groceries for breakfast and snacks to keep you energized. Our drink fridge is always fully stocked. Local cold brew and beers are always on tap.

Our upcoming office renovation (to be completed in the spring of 2022) will feature a full commercial kitchen. We’re currently hiring an in-house Head Chef to keep our employees well-fed every day.
Office dogs are welcome! We work alongside valued furry colleagues, Biscuit, Sienna, Penny, and Chicken Nugget. As an add-on benefit, SafetyCulture provides optional pet insurance.
SafetyCulture Kansas City’s active Women’s Group, open to all women in the KC office, is committed to creating a more diverse workplace by recruiting talented women of all backgrounds, developing women’s leadership and professional skills, and retaining women by creating a culture of support and equity. As a result of this group’s efforts, at the end of 2021, the KC team was 47% female and 49% of all promotions were female.
SafetyCulture provides a range of benefits to help support employees that are having or adopting a child. Key benefits of our parental leave policy include up to 12 months’ parental leave (including both paid and unpaid), up to 16 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers and 8 for secondary carers, maintenance of continuity of services of equity vesting for up to 12 months, maintenance of leave accrual entitlements while on paid leave.
Physical and mental wellbeing is a top priority. SafetyCulture partners with ClassPass to bring fitness classes to all employees as a subsidized membership.

We’ve partnered with local health and wellness experts to conduct regular training and Q&A sessions for employees to learn about the best ways to take care of themselves.
There is a lot of work to be done, but when we achieve our goals, we take time to celebrate! Our Head of Vibe sure knows how to throw a party - whether it be karaoke in our Play Cafe, renting out Virtual Reality bars, or 90’s themed roller skating, there are plenty of opportunities to socialize.
With offices across the globe, you’ll have opportunities to collaborate with employees all over the world. Every year, SafetyCulture employees travel to beautiful destinations for ShipIt, our annual hackathon and employee summit. Locations have included Townsville, Australia; Wellington, New Zealand; and in 2022, we’re headed to Hawaii! Join us, we’re hiring!
We’re working to transform our business by becoming sustainable from the inside out. In the KC office, we’ve replaced all kitchenware with reusable plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. Our kitchen is outfitted with composting and recycling bins and we’ve implemented a composting program, which includes the ability to take home composting bins for any employees who want to participate.

Through championing the use of our digital platform iAuditor, organizations have helped to eliminate paper wastage. iAuditor collects 1.3TB of inspection data per day. That’s 16,000,000 pages of paper saved daily, or 1,000 trees.
